Brijesh Bachkaniwala – Journey from chemical engineer, to Barista, to cafe ownerFebruary 7, 2018
Imagine, walking up to your father, and saying, ‘Dad, I want to do something about laundry’. Sounds preposterous, unless all you want to do is the laundry at your house. Ayush Bansal decided to do something different in the field laundry. Hailing from a small city, Begusarai in Bihar, Ayush joined bachelors in mass communication, with his major in Public Relations, in Delhi, but dropped in last semester.
He came to Surat 3 years back, joining textiles in the beginning, and later dropping it after a year. His brother, Piyush meanwhile worked with traditional laundry service provider. Ayush later joined them for marketing, but both the brothers saw gaping holes in the system, and this gave them the idea and motivation for ‘Clean Zone’, a laundromat based start-up.
Currently, Clean Zone in Surat offers pick-up and drop-off, while their operational system is on run with the modern system. They haven’t restricted themselves to just garments, and cover all variety of clothing, from restaurant upholstery to soft toys, wallets and purses to cushions and curtains, and even shoe cleaning. They already have a loyal clientele, and now plan on expanding their company, through digitalization and automation.
Ayush hasn’t restricted himself to just the start-up, he loves networking and joined BNI. As a BNI launch director, he launched the world’s largest chapter of BNI with 112 entrepreneurs, and 623 visitors, and the second largest meet with 102 entrepreneurs. He is now a regional director for Vapi, Valsad, Silvassa, and Daman. He is a social person by nature. His work is his first love, and his zeal and passion for Clean Zone reflect’s in his work and words.
On talking about inspiration and motivation, Ayush says, he finds his inspiration within, while his motivation comes from the negatives outside. Ayush turns doubts and scorns of people into his pushing factors. He aspires to take Clean Zone to a level where it’s a brand on its own. His outlook on life is being dedicated to one’s own calling, ignoring the nitty-gritties of others success and living one’s own story. He is an example, for all those who want to pursue, an unconventional field in the world of traditional businesses.
